Is It Possible to Tell Whether You’re Shedding More Than Usual?

Most people won’t even notice a difference because new Hair will come in to replace the old.

However, alopecia may cause your thinning Hair and receding Hairline.  Hair Connection

Dr. Wilma Bergfeld, a dermatologist, discusses Hair loss, its potential causes, and potential treatments.

Methods for Preventing Hair Loss

Thinning Hair can be a source of stress and low self-esteem, but it can also affect your appearance. Even so, you may take specific measures to halt the thinning of your Hair.  Hair Connection

  • Adequately Supplement Your Diet with Protein

If your hair isn’t growing, it could be because you aren’t getting enough protein in your diet.

Dr. Bergfeld recommends 40-60 g daily. Protein is not required to be consumed as food; instead, it can be taken in liquid form.

Beans, lentils, eggs, and Greek yogurt are good options for meeting your daily protein needs.

  • Use Nutritional Supplements

Hair development can be influenced by various nutrients, including vitamins A, B, C, D, E, zinc, and iron. A vitamin deficiency can be diagnosed by a battery of tests your doctor can administer. Bergfeld has discovered effective in maintaining Hair, skin, and muscular health.

Everything here is fine. Find ones made by a trusted manufacturer.” Dr. Bergfeld explains, “New ones include saw palmetto, calcium, and selenium.”

  • Aim for A Mediterranean Diet

The critical components of the Mediterranean diet include fruits, vegetables, and protein, which can be beneficial, especially compared to other popular diets.

Dr. Borgfeldt warns against the short-term weight loss that comes with restrictive diets. And they frequently lack a necessary ingredient for healthy hair follicles. If you’re experiencing Hair loss, try an OTC treatment. Hair Connection

You may be familiar with minoxidil, an OTC drug that stops Hair loss. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the medicine in a 5% strength, and it is available as a solution or foam applied to the scalp.  Hair Connection

Dr. Borgfeldt says, “We’ve been thinking about employing low-dose oral minoxidil as a treatment.” Only a few studies have shown that it is safe and effective, but those that have been done indicate promising results. Hair Connection

  • Indulge In Some Low-Intensity Laser Therapy

This newest method to promote hair growth has received FDA approval. However, the wands and helmets used in low-level laser light therapy are time-consuming and costly (between $200 and $1,000).

Dr. Bergfeld says it can “decrease skin inflammation and start hair growth.” “It’s so obvious. There are no medication interactions for you. Your lack of intolerance is remarkable. In the worst case, you might get sunburn on your scalp, easily treatable with a moisturizer, or by just spending less time in the sun.

  • Take Care of Your Hair and Scalp

Regular hair and scalp washing are essential for maintaining a healthy scalp. Do not subject your hair to excessive heat, chemical treatments, or bleaching. Braids and other tight hairstyles can also damage your hair.

The Cause of Your Hair Loss

Because of the following, you may notice more hair loss than usual:

  • Genetics
  • Stress
  • Caused by hormonal shifts, such as those seen during pregnancy and menopause
  • Select hairdos
  • Chemical hair treatments, such as perms and bleaching, are harmful to the hair.
  • Meds like cancer chemotherapy, for example.
  • Illnesses involving the body, such as yeast infections and thyroid problems

. Your doctor will inquire about your current condition, any drugs you’re taking, and your family history.

Dr. Bergfeld advises patients to keep a journal in which they note any out-of-the-ordinary occurrences, such as a cumbersome menstrual flow. That way, we’ll have a better idea of where to start looking for triggers when we return.

Aside from the scalp, your doctor will examine your eyebrows, eyelashes, underarms, pubic area, legs, and arms to determine if you’re also experiencing hair loss there.

Dr. Bergfeld explains that hair loss, especially shedding, indicates that something within has changed. Those systems will be impacted by anything that disturbs your body’s equilibrium. It’s a sign of illness if you start losing your hair.

Is It Possible To Stop Hair Loss?

Both. The cause of hair loss is an essential factor to consider.

Alopecia can be permanent, as in the case of cicatricial alopecia, or it can be transient, as in the case of alopecia brought on by stress or a medical condition. Hair growth should resume assuming the underlying problem has been determined and remedied.

According to Dr. Bergfeld, “generally speaking,” hair will recover between four and six months to a year if the trigger or whatever caused the harm to the hair follicle is removed.
